Ibrahim’s Wish
Ibrahim's Wish

Wish:

To get close to racing cars and watch mechanics at work

When:

June 2024

Where:

Bedfordshire

Description:

Ibrahim is 16 years old and uses a wheelchair because of a neuro degenerative disease. Ibrahim loves fast cars and was keen to see some racing cars up close and get to watch a mechanic at work. Ibrahim’s wish came true in the most exhilarating way when he got to spend two unforgettable days at Silverstone race course, seeing the cars and the mechanics in action! On day one, surrounded by Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis, he lit up with joy as the generous car owners let him open the doors, peek inside and take endless photos, before exploring the control tower and discovering motorsport history at the museum with his dad and uncle. Day two was just as magical, with Ibrahim watching live races from inside the clubhouse, meeting a club member – who introduced him to his racing team, witnessing mechanics expertly strip and rebuild a car and joining in the celebrations of the race winners with photos and a trophy presentation. Excitement soared when he gained special access to an Aston Martin team’s high‑tech garage, watching their engineers prepare a souped‑up car before it hit the track. Every moment helped make Ibrahim’s wish an unforgettable experience that he and his family will treasure forever. Ibrahim’s family said “Many thanks to all the incredible staff at Creating Memories for going above and beyond to make Ibrahim’s wish come true. Also, a big thanks to the F1 racers for showing magnificent support to Ibrahim, as well as spending time with him. He particularly enjoyed meeting the racers and has not stopped talking about his time at Silverstone. We thank you ever so much for bringing such joy and excitement to him. Once again, we as a family would like to thank the staff for their hard work.”
