Tracey’s Wish
Tracey's Wish

Wish:

To fly in an aeroplane

When:

May 2026

Where:

Bedfordshire

Description:

Tracey’s cancer diagnosis was unable to quell her real sense of adventure, with a background in scuba diving and being at the helm of many different modes of transport in her 47 years. However her one wish was to fly in a small aeroplane, a desire born of a connection to her father, who had always wanted one of his children to become a pilot. Thanks to Wayne at the Azure Flying School at Cranfield airport, Tracey’s wish came true. The team were ready and welcoming, and once in the air, Tracey and her son chose to fly over Silverstone and Woburn Safari Park and enjoyed a full hour in the air. The experience left Tracey feeling exhausted but happy. It was a meaningful and memorable experience that Tracey and her family will never forget. After the flight Tracey said “I can’t truly put into words how much this experience meant to me. Flying has always been something close to my heart because of my dad, and to finally be able to do it felt so emotional and special. From start to finish, everything was just amazing. The team made us feel so welcome, and even though I felt a little unwell at times, being up in the air and seeing places like Silverstone and Woburn Safari Park was incredible. Sharing it with my son made it even more meaningful. When we landed, I was overwhelmed with emotion and so grateful that this had been made possible for me. It’s something I never thought I’d actually get to experience, and it’s a memory I will treasure forever. Thank you so much for making my wish come true – it meant the world to me.”
