Lucas is thirteen and lives with Kabuki syndrome, a type 2 chronic lung condition, and epilepsy. He cannot walk or talk, has regular seizures and requires 24-hour oxygen. Lucas is incredibly sensory and he loves soft toys – particularly Jellycats. He uses them for positioning when he is lying down and already owned three well-loved and well-hugged giraffes before his wish to visit the Jellycat store in Selfridges. Lucas wished to have the famous Fish and Chip Shop experience, where your limited edition characters, get selected, wrapped up and handed to you as if they were a takeaway meal! Two representatives from Jellycat were present to greet Lucas, taking the time to meet all the family before Lucas and his brother Alfie were both gifted the full experience. Lucas thoroughly enjoyed watching his ‘order’ being prepared, and his mum said she noted how awake, alert, and engaged he was throughout. Now Lucas’s has a new favourite – the ‘Peas’ – which are now his first choice for a hug! Lucas’ mum said “We want to thank you so much for this experience. We did not think Lucas would make it to his wish as he had been very sleepy, but as soon as we stepped inside, he knew! He woke up and was looking around – when he looked at his dad, magically daddy then bought him even more Jellycats! It was such a magical time for us and Lucas was so happy. Thank you so much for making this experience happen.”
