Ruby’s biggest wish was to go away on a holiday with her family. Ruby is fourteen, but has a rare condition called WAGR which means that part of her brain is missing – she has the mental age of a 3-year-old and is only able to say a few words. She is also blind and lives with liver and kidney disease. Ruby loves her own space and being out in nature as it makes her feel calm. To find a suitable place for Ruby, Creating Memories reached out to Spectrum Holidays who offered Ruby and her family a caravan nestled in the Lincolnshire countryside, where the family could walk and feed the ducks. The caravan provided sensory toys for Ruby to play with and a trip to the local arcades for the wider family to enjoy. A great time was had by all.
