Fatima’s Wish
Fatima's Wish

Wish:

To make pizza in an Italian restaurant

When:

October 2025

Where:

Hertfordshire

Description:

Fatima is 13 years old and has a condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa/Shabbir Syndrome. Fatima’s wish was to enjoy some authentic Italian food and make pizzas with her family in an Italian restaurant – and her dream came true! Chef Ivano opened up his restaurant ‘Italian Touch’ just for Fatima and her family, creating a private space for the family to have fun together. Fatima, her two brothers and her parents all learned how to make pizzas from scratch. Fatima watched the chef closely, then confidently tried it herself – stretching the dough, flipping it and even putting her pizza into the oven. Her parents joined in too, and it soon turned into a friendly competition to see who could make the best pizza! Then for dessert, everyone worked with Ivano to make a delicious ‘sweet’ pizza covered in chocolate and mascarpone – which was a huge hit with everyone! Before leaving, each person received their own apron as a keepsake, along with pizzas to take home. Fatima’s mother said “I would like to extend my sincere thanks for making our daughter’s wish come true. It was a truly wonderful and memorable experience for all of us. Chef Ivano was exceptional – highly skilled, supportive, and with a delightful sense of humour that made the experience both educational and enjoyable. We all greatly appreciated the valuable tips and advice he shared on achieving the perfect pizza – from creating the right dough consistency, to balancing the toppings and mastering the baking process. Thank you Creating Memories for your time and patience, and for so kindly fulfilling Fatima’s wish – putting in all the effort to make it happen, and also arranging for a lovely photographer to capture the experience.”
