Syed’s Wish

Wish:

A supported swing to enable Syed to play outside with his brother

When:

August 2023

Where:

Milton Keynes

Description:

Syed can now play in his garden on a supported swing and enjoy time with his family, thanks to Creating Memories and Active Landscapes. When Syed’s family approached Creating Memories to see if they could grant his wish for a special swing so he could enjoy playing outside with his brother, the charity got in touch with Active Landscapes, a company based in Milton Keynes, who were only too happy to help. Active Landscapes kindly gifted the swing to Syed’s family and worked through the rain to install it. The double swing allows Syed to sit safely and comfortably in a supported swing, while his brother can sit on the swing next to him. The swing is specially designed for children with special needs and is ideal for Syed, who has quadruple cerebral palsy and global delay, a condition that has meant limited enjoyment in the family garden. Now the brothers get to swing together and create moments to treasure that all the family can enjoy. Pritti Saggi, Founder of Creating Memories said; “I am so grateful to Richard Farr from Active Landscapes for partnering up with us to make Syed’s wish come true.  Seeing the brother’s faces light up with joy while playing on the swing has made it all worthwhile – it is why we do what we do. Syed’s family have since been in touch to say thank you and to say that Syed and Hassan have been enjoying playing on their new swing!”
