A coastal holiday
Coastal trip

Wish:

To spend time away as a family

When:

September 2025

Where:

Buckinghamshire

Description:

This 6 year old boy living with complex medical needs (which include breathing support, tube‑feeding and a stoma bag), wanted to go away with his family for the first time. That wish came true at a coastal holiday park, where the experience exceeded all expectations. The journey was smooth and reassuring, the accommodation spacious enough for all the necessary equipment and the staff were wonderfully supportive throughout. The family enjoyed beautiful weather, pre-arranged activities, and celebrated a particularly special moment when the child was able to safely experience the swimming pool. A beach visit and kind interactions with local staff made the trip even more meaningful. For the first time, the family truly got to relax together, and the children enjoyed themselves so much they are already asking to return. Most importantly, the holiday gave the boy’s parents newfound confidence that family trips like this are possible. They said; “Our son has complex needs relating to his disability which mean that he requires a lot of extra care and equipment all of the time. Consequently, we haven’t been able to have a holiday since he was born 6 and a half years ago. Going away had always felt far too complicated, expensive or out of reach. When Creating Memories got in touch and I spoke with Pritti about the possibility of going away, she immediately started trying to work out how we could make this happen in a safe way for our family. Pritti worked so hard putting our wish together, keeping us informed of all the developments. In the end, we managed to go away for five days, something we had thought just wouldn’t be possible for us. Creating Memories and Haven had also organised several different activities for the children to try on site, including archery and driving 4×4’s. We had such an amazing first holiday as a family. Everything went really smoothly, my son was so well supported and his care needs were met at every stage. All of my children were so excited to be able to go away and enjoyed everything we did so much. It was a fantastic experience and one that will provide us with brilliant memories long into the future. We are so grateful to Pritti and Creating Memories for enabling us to have this experience. Thanks again for all your hard work Pritti.”
