A little boy arrived with his mother and nana at Shacks Barn Farm in Towcester, where Jackie and her volunteers assisted him to ride Murphy the pony and to take part in games, feed and stroke him. The little boy then met another pony who shared the same name as him! This was something that brought the boy’s mother and grandmother, who both come from a horse-riding background, to tears as they thought that because of his condition, riding a pony would be something he could never do.
To celebrate his achievement the boy was then presented with a trophy, kindly engraved by Harrisons and Simmonds in Bedford, and a rosette. Finally, the day was rounded of nicely with everyone enjoying a slice of an amazing and very real looking horse-shaped cake, created by Little White Cakery, complete with a favourite filling! The little boy also received a t-shirt printed with an image from the day, courtesy of BMC Leisure in Kempston.
Thank you to the following local businesses who kindly donated their products, time and services to help make this wish come true, including Shacks Barn Farm, Little White Cakery, BMC Leisure and Harrisons and Simmonds.
